Irfan Al-Anbagi, Ph.D., P.Eng., is an Assistant Professor in the Electronic Systems Engineering program at the University of Regina. He completed his Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa, his Ph.D. was concerned with the development of reliable and real-time communication protocols for smart grid applications. He worked as a research and development engineer at Glasgow Caledonian University in the UK, where he designed, developed and tested a high voltage transformer partial discharge monitoring system using sensor networks. Before joining the University of Regina, he worked as a product development manager of “SecCharge” Project (Secure Electric Vehicle (EVs) Ecosystem for Smart Grid) in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Al-Anbagi published more than 40 articles in smart grid communication and control. His current research interests include internet of things, wireless sensor networks, cyber-physical systems, smart grid communication systems and vehicle-to-grid systems.
